The state government has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the kin of those killed in the incident and Rs one lakh to the injured, Director, Information, Prabhat Mittal said. He said Chairman Revenue Board has been asked by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to inquire into the incident and submit the report to him. The Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav have condoled the loss of lives in the stampede and said that all possibile help would be given to those injured. The Chief Minister said that senior officers have been asked to keep an eye on the situation and provide all possible help to the people.
