Repolling to be held tomorrow at 5 stations in Ferozpur Jhirka

Repolling will be held tomorrow at five of the polling stations under Ferozpur Jhirka Assembly constituency in Mewat district, a senior election official said today.
The five polling stations include 91-Government Primary School Mohammed Bas urf Buchaka, 101-Government High School Neemkhera, 102-Government Senior Secondary School Badedh (Right room), 107-Government Middle School, Tigaon (Right Room) and 108-Government Middle School, Tigaon (Left Room), Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said.
Haryana government has notified that October 18 would be observed as public holiday in all the government, semi- government offices, educational institutions, boards and corporations of state government falling under Firozpur Jhirka Assembly Constituency due to the repolling.

The provision has been made under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 and under Section 135-B of Representation of the People Act, 1951.
Walgad further said there will be a close day (holiday) on October 18 for all shops and commercial establishments falling under Firozpur Jhirka Assembly constituency so as to provide opportunity to the public to exercise their franchise.
Walgad also said that the elections results for Haryana assembly polls are expected to come by late afternoon or evening of October 19.

The counting of votes for the assembly polls will be held at 90 counting centres, set up at 57 places in the state, on October 19, he said.

Walgad said all arrangements for counting of votes have already been made and the early trends of counting of votes would come up soon after the commencement of counting at 8 am.
"First of all counting of ballot papers would be carried out and the final results of elections are expected to come by late afternoon or evening of October 19," he said.
Haryana had created history by clocking an all-time high polling of about 76.54 per cent, surpassing maximum of 72.65 per cent in 1967 in the high-stakes battle among top contenders Congress, BJP and INLD in the multi-cornered contest.
