Prasad's name figured in the list of MPs occupying government bungalows above their entitlement, as per information provided in an RTI response by the Ministry of Urban Development.
"I am also the Deputy Leader of my party in the Rajya Sabha and as per proper entitlement, the bungalow has been allotted to me by the House Committee of the Rajya Sabha from its own pool where I continue as present. Obviously the RTI information about me is not correct. This fact needs to be published," said Prasad.
The BJP leader said he was allotted a type VII bungalow in his capacity as a minister but after he demitted office the bungalow was reverted to the Rajya Sabha Pool and more than six year ago, a suitable bungalow of type VII from the Rajya Sabha pool has been given to the ministry of Urban Development.
