Jagdish Raj Sethi (65), a resident of Kalkaji area in New Delhi was found dead in a hotel room here yesterday, they said, adding that he had allegedly electrocuted himself as a live wire was found attached to a gold 'Kadha' (armlet) on his wrist.
The deceased, a retired mathematics teacher of a degree college in Delhi had also left behind a suicide note urging not to hand over his body to his son, Inspector Gyanendra Sirohi, Sikandra police station said.
A sealed envelope addressed to Sethi's daughter Sonia was also found in the room.
According to the hotel manager Santosh Khanna, Sethi checked in on Monday evening.
We called him in the afternoon yesterday to shift his car from the pathway but the call was connected to his daughter who said her father was missing, Khanna said, adding that the teacher was found dead when they opened his room with a duplicate key last evening.
