Ashokan of Kaundampalayam, doing gravel business from leased land, with permission from revenue department, lodged a complaint with Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) that Manimegalai, Revenue Inspector of Thondamuthur was seeking Rs 7,000 to sign an official letter, allowing him to use the land for his business, police said.
As directed, Ashokan paid some tainted currency notes to Manimegalai, during which DVAC DSP, Murugesan and his team caught her red-handed, this evening, police said.
Manimegalai was produced before the DVAC Special Court and lodged in the Central Jail, they said.
