Revenue Inspector held for taking Rs 2,500 bribe

Vigilance sleuths today arrested the revenue inspector of Badakushastali in Odisha's Ganjam district and his office peon for allegedly taking bribe Rs 2,500 from a person for demarcation of his land and to issue right of record (RoR).
The accused persons identified as Kailash Chandra Behera, RI and Govinda Chandra Pattanaik, peon were caught red handed while accepting bribe in the office chamber, said vigilance SP (Berhampur) Amulya Kumar Das.
The bribe money along with some relevant documents were seized for them, he said.
The residence of RI located at Lanjipalli here and his office chamber has been searched after their arrest, officials said.

Yesterday, the vigilance sleuths had arrested Purna Chandra Pradhan, forester in Khallikote range office in the district, while taking bribe Rs 3,000 from a person to allow him to transport Akashia logs to a saw mill.
The vigilance personnel caught him in the premises of the forest office red handed, officials said.
