Revenue inspector sentenced to 3 yrs RI

A revenue inspector has been sentenced to three years' rigorous imprisonment by a special vigilance court in Odisha's Kandhamal district for accepting bribe to demarcate a piece of land.
Special Vigilance Judge, Phulbani, Gouri Shankar Satpathy while pronouncing the judgement yesterday also imposed Rs 5000 penalty on the revenue inspector of Daringbadi.
Baliarsingh was caught red handed by vigilance sleuths while accepting Rs 3500 from one Noha Pradhan on January 15, 2010 to demarcate his land which was said to be a disputed one.
