Bajwa, who is facing a rebellion in Punjab Congress with former Chief Minister Amarinder seeking his ouster, met Rahul at his residence late in the evening and spent some time with him.
Sources said that Bajwa has given a detailed account of the activities undertaken by him in strengthening the party and taking on the Akali-BJP combine in the state over issues like drugs, corruption and law and order.
He also told Rahul about the absence of Amarinder and his supporters at the Congress political congregation at Maghi mela in Muktsar.
The PCC chief, who was Rahul's choice to replace Amarinder, has also sought time from Congress President Sonia Gandhi and will be meeting with other top Congress leaders too to put forth his side.
Sources also said that former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal is also camping in Delhi to meet the party high command and offer views on the Congress' revival and change of leadership in the state.
