However, barley declined on reduced offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said persistent buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly kept rice basmati prices higher.
Reports of a likely fall in kharif output further fuelled the uptrend, they said.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety rose further to Rs 5,700-6,200 and Rs 4,700-5,700 from previous levels of Rs 5,400-5,900 and Rs 4,500-5,500 per quintal, respectively.
