Rice exported from Paradip to Indonesia

A shipment containing 2,650 tonne of rice was exported to Indonesia from Paradip Port today, port officials said.
The rice which came from Raipur in Chhattisgarh by goods train was unloaded in the cargo berth and stored in containers before being sent onboard, Traffic Manager of Paradip Port Trust, Kishore Chandra Sahu said.
Stating that export of such huge quantity of rice was the first of its kind from the port, he said about eight years ago tamarind had been shipped to Thailand from the port.
