Richier for bilateral cooperation to promote heritage tourism

Emphasising on fostering heritage tourism, Ambassador of France to India Francois Richier today said that a cooperation between the two countries on this front could bolster further growth in the sector.
He was in the city to attend the annual convention of the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA) here.
He said creating a strong transport network, building of cooperative circuits with high standards of connectivity services to customers, site preservation and beautification were key to augment tourism revenues in the state.
Richier talked about "fostering heritage tourism" during the luncheon talk with hoteliers and said that that "cooperation with France" could "bolster" the sector further.

The ambassador said that each palace or fort has its own heritage and touristic value, as a monument or a hotel which should be enhanced by building cooperative circuits and high connectivity among others.
He said an efficient and safe transport network between tourists spots is equally indispensable.

This is one of the essential facilities to establish in tourist circuits, a release quoting him said.
Office bearers and members of the IHHA were present on the occasion.
September 27 marks 'World Tourism Day' and many events including heritage walks marked the occasion in the city.
