Filmmaker Ridley Scott will produce a new adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic novel, 'Murder on the Orient Express'.
20th Century Fox has nabbed the rights to Agatha Christie's famous murder mystery novel and has set a trio of top producers to oversee the new adaptation.
Scott will be joined by 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' writer-producer Simon Kinberg and 'Saving Private Ryan' producer Mark Gordon to make the film.
The 1934 book, which features Christie's famous detective Hercule Poirot, sees the investigator look into the death of a passenger on a train departing from Istanbul.
The classic tale has been adapted for film and TV in the past, with an Oscar-nominated adaptation released in 1974.
The film starred Albert Finney as Poirot and earned Ingrid
Bergman an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.
British actor David Suchet is best known for portraying 'Poirot' in a long-running British TV series which ended last month after 25 years spent adapting Christie's array of Poirot novels.
Scott is currently directing 'Exodus', which tells the story of Moses, for Fox.
