Rijiju takes stock of infrastructure dev of Arunachal Pradesh

: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today presided over an infrastructure development meeting and reviewed the progress of various road sectors in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Following a detailed presentation made by DC A K Singh on the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) Road, Orang-Kalaktang-Shergaon-Rupa-Tenga (OKSRT), Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH), Munna-Chander-Thungri,
Dirang-Mandala-Debrabu-Naga GG and
Shergaon-Morshing-Mandalaphudung roads in the district, Rijiju observed the pre-requisite condition for development of any area depends on its road connectivity.
"The progress in the various roads seems to be satisfactory, but it could have been accelerated further," he observed, an official release said.
He directed the BRO authorities to put in more efforts with diligence, commitment and vision.
The Minister stressed on beautification and promotion of tourism along the roads and ridges and asked the DC and the GOC 5-Mtn Div to jointly plan and execute wayside amenities and view points for promotion of tourism in the district.
Rijiju later inaugurated the sector headquarters office of SSB at Pedung under Bomdila in presence of DG SSB Archana Ramasundaram and other rank and file of the SSB, Army, ITBP, CRPF and the district administration.
He expressed hope that it would strengthen the functioning of the force in the region, the release added.
