After inaugurating and laying foundation stones of projects worth Rs 1,802.43 crore, Deputy CM said to facilitate export of power to Pakistan, all power grids in the state have been inter-connected including all power plants and this ring grid would play a vital role in transmission of power.
Built with an outlay of Rs 1,700 crore, the ring transmission grid would also help in achieving target to reduce the transmission and distribution losses to 15 per cent by 2015-16, he said.
The power generated by newly commissioned thermal plants would be inter-connected with ring transmission system by the 1620 km long high capacity power lines, he said.
Deputy CM further said Punjab is all set to raise power distribution capacity to 7,000 MW from 5,400 MW with an expenditure of over Rs 2,000 crore in this regard.
Badal further said the ring grid transmission would enable state to grant more than 75,000 tube-well connections in next few months.
Badal has also said that coming agricultural summit at Mohali, would prove to be milestone in the history of the country as it would help in crop diversification.
Promising a paperless business transactions, Deputy Chief Minister announced that from February 13 onwards, there would be no need to maintain record registers for traders as all services would be provided online.
He also announced that in all assembly constituencies, Punjab government would spend Rs 100 crore each in next two years.
