"Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar should leave aside their ego and work towards consolidation of support among the deprived sections," Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav told reporters.
"They need to promote genuine people hailing from this section and keep 'dalals' (sycophants) away," he added.
BJP, he said, has played its 'Mandal' card ahead of Bihar Assembly poll next year by appointing Ramkripal Yadav as a minister in the Modi government.
Meanwhile, during the day, Leader of Opposition in Bihar assembly, Nand Kishore Yadav of BJP paid a visit to the village of B P Mandal, the author of Mandal Commission report which paved the way for reservation for OBCs in government jobs, and exhorted people to support his party.
He garlanded the statue of Mandal at his native village Mudho in Madhepura and referring to the appointment of Ramkripal Yadav as minister, appealed to the people to bring BJP to power in Bihar for development of backward and extremely backward castes.
He demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi extend ban on liquor, like in his home state Gujarat, throughout the country.
Yadav, who is agitating against doctors charging high fees from patients, said he has arranged free medical treatment to those from BPL at a private hospital in Patna where costly medical tests would be done at a nominal rate.
