Revolving around horror-loving teenagers, "Fear Street" takes place in the fictional city of Shadyside, Ohio.
Stein, 72, confirmed the news saying a feature film is being made, though he did not leak any details, reported The Wrap.
"I'm not allowed to say, but yeah, there's something happening. I'm usually a loose cannon but they really didn't want me to talk about it," he said.
Famous as "Stephen King of children's literature," the author began writing the "Fear Street" books in 1989, even before he launched the "Goosebumps" series.
