Focussing on strategic partnerships with stake holders, Railway Board member (traffic) Md Jamshed suggested that employees stress on good service to the people for overall development of Indian Railways.
"Freight loading, zero accident, better capacity utilisation, doubling average speed of trains, improving accounting norms, being a thriving commercial entity while serving people optimally and joining hands with stake holders are the key missions to achieve different targets in Indian Railways," he said during All India Railway Week Celebrations-2016 here last evening.
Jamshed said collaboration and strategic partnership will create a new dimension in freight business.
Referring to the various Railways schemes, he said mini rake for multiple directions within 600 km, withdrawal of congestion surcharge from ports and automatic rebate on loading in traditional empty flow direction should result in robust traffic offering to Railways.
The Railway Board member mentioned reducing detention of rolling stock and locomotives, increasing speed on siding lines and improving signalling system with interlocking facilities to avoid safety hazards and improving turn round time. He said provision of grade separators to avoid surface crossings and also provision of electrification in sidings would maintain uniform traction.
Among others G C Ray, Chief Operations Manager, Binayak Prasad Swain, Chief Commercial Manager and chief operations managers of East, Central and South East Central Railways, senior officers of Railway Board and East Coast Railway attended the meeting.
