Rlys lines up 7 more premium trains to handle Xmas rush

Railways is planning to run seven premium trains between major cities in the festive season to handle the rush for Christmas and New Year.
Premium trains are being planned between Mumbai-Chennai, Pune-Karmali, Hyderabad-Mumbai, Hyderabad-Bangalore, Hyderabad -Chennai, Jaipur-Bandra Terminus and Jaipur-Ernakulam.
Tickets for such trains can only be booked online and the cost of travel on the premium service are higher than the regular fare.
"Cost of the tickets vary as per the demand. It starts with the tatkal rate and goes up as the demand increases," said a senior rail ministry official, adding that the additional premium special trains have been planned to meet the Christmas rush.
Railways at present runs premium trains on 21 popular routes.
