Jayaraj, 63 had also served as the Press Registrar of Registrar of Newspapers for India.
He also worked as Public Relations Director in the Ministry of Defence and as All India Radio special correspondent in Trincomalee and Jaffna in Sri Lanka during the Indian peacekeeping operations in the 1980s.
"Led by the Press Registrar S M Khan the RNI family, at a meeting in New Delhi, condoled the death of Jayaraj, who has served in senior positions in All India Radio, Doordarshan and PIB in Chennai", Deputy Press Registrar Kanchan Prasad told PTI here over phone.
