Two armed robbers allegedly in connivance with the employees of a metal trader looted Rs 26 lakh from his office in North Delhi's Sadar Bazar area.
The two employees, identified as Karan (25) and Subodh Pandey (24) have been arrested by the police and efforts are on to nab the robbers.
The incident took place on Wednesday around 7 PM at the office of businessman Sanjay Gupta.
"Some of Gupta's employees were present in the office when two armed men barged inside and made away with the cash from the drawer of the office after taking the employees hostage at gunpoint," said a senior police official.
During investigation, Gupta said that there was no reason for him to suspect his employees and they were like his son.
"However, when we checked the CCTV footage of the loot, we found that the two employees did not panic at all when they saw the armed robbers and the entire robbery went on so smoothly.
"The criminals even kept their gun on the table while filling the money in their bags and the employees behaved as if it was routine," he said.
When Karan and Subodh were taken into custody and interrogated thouroghly they confessed to their involvement.
Efforts are on to nab the three criminals one of whom has been identified as Navin Kasana, a notorious criminal.
While two of the robbers had entered in the office, the third one was waiting in a vehicle outside with its engine on.
Other than local police, teams from the Crime Branch and Special Cell are also trying to trace the trio, police said.
