The film, which will be helmed by Tim Hill, is a feature adaptation of Robert Kimmel Smith's novel of the same name, reported Variety.
The movie is being written by Lisa Addario, Joe Syracuse, Matt Ember and Tom Astle.
The story revolves around a young boy who is forced to quit his room for his Grandfather named Jack played by De Niro, the boy also carries out various pranks to get his grandpa out of his room.
