Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan says she is a fan of director Rohit Shetty and calls him the "Manmohan Desai of this generation."
Kareena worked with Rohit in hit films like 'Golmaal Returns' and 'Golmaal 3'.
"According to me, Rohit Shetty is Manmohan Desai of this generation. He is fantastic. Which actress will not like to work with him? He has given me two of my career's biggest hit films and the third one (hinting at 'Singham Returns') is on the way," Kareena said in an interview here.
She was not part of Rohit's 'Singham', but loved the film and is the leading lady in its sequel 'Singham Returns'.
"I chose to do this film because it is a Rohit Shetty film. I am a fan of him. The role is very nice and he has written specially for me," she said.
"There is comedy in the film and it is difficult to do. The film has Rohit, Ajay Devgn with whom I have worked earlier, so this team is like my home. The film has turned out to be bigger and better from the first part," she said.
Usually 'masala' entertainers are all about the hero, but Kareena thinks heroines also are an equally important part of such films.
"My role in this film is also of that much importance. Like in Hollywood films, whether it is 'The Bourne Identity', 'The Bourne Supremacy' and other films, even though boys are important, you still have hottest stars (heroines) doing action packed films," she said.
"Every top actress is in the biggest hit of the year. Just because it is an action film doesn't mean the heroine has nothing to do in it. This film also requires talented heroines," she said.
Kareena will be seen playing a Maharashtrian girl in the film .
"I have spoken in fluent Marathi in the film. I learnt the language on the sets. I picked it up quite fast and I have said quite a few bad words, but it was all fun. It is a fun character. She is doing 'Singham giri' and people will be surprised," the actress said.
Praising her co-star, she said, "Ajay is a natural actor. He is one of the finest actors in the industry. Besides, he is a very good human being and a very dear friend of mine. I know him since the film 'Suhaag' which had him and my sister Karisma. Rohit was an assistant that time. He is like family to me. I respect his advice. Our relationship is beyond films," she added.
