"We have opened the Pass, the gateway to snowbound tribal Lahaul valley for, third time during this season after it was officially closed for vehicular traffic on November 15," Col Yogesh Nayyar, Commander 30 BRT said.
Opening of the pass (13,050 ft) has come as an unexpected relief for the people who were stuck in the snowbound valley due to non-availability of helicopter services.
Col Nayyar said the BRO men worked hard to clear the road.
The pass was closed for the third time after heavy snowfall in the tribal belt last week.
People of Lahaul valley have expressed gratitude to BRT for opening the pass at a very crucial time and demanded that the men who worked under hard conditions should be recommended for award.
