The band announced on their website that they will return to the scene of one of their most memorable and poignant concerts for the first time since 1969. They will perform on July 6, reported The Guardian.
The concert, which is part of a 10-day series of events at Hyde Park called British Summer Time, will come less than a week after the band performs at Glastonbury for the first time in their 51-year career.
The band first played at Hyde Park, London in 1969, two days after their former guitarist Brian Jones was found dead at his home. The free gig, which featured support from King Crimson and Roy Harper, was seen by an estimated 500,000 fans.
"We had such a great time playing the five concerts last year, we want to keep it going. Hyde Park holds such great memories for us and we can't think of anywhere better to perform to our UK fans this summer," band member Mick Jagger said.
"We had such a ball last year and the energy between the band is so good, we can't wait to get back on that stage where the Stones belong," Keith Richards added.
