The company had sold 33,679 units in the year-ago month.
In march, domestic sales surged 52 per cent to 50,059 units as against 32,854 units in the same month last year.
Exports stood at 1,261 units, up 53 per cent, compared with 825 units in the corresponding month last year.
"Reaching sales of over fifty thousand motorcycles in a single month is a significant milestone for Royal Enfield.
"We approximately manufactured a similar number of motorcycles in 2010 that goes on to show our focus and hard work that we have put in all these years," Rudratej Singh, President Royal Enfield said in a statement.
