25-year-old Karthick of neighbouring Namakkal tied the knot with 21-year-old Abirami at a temple this morning and the couple along with their family members were travelling in a multi-utility vehicle to the bride's house in Chithode in Erode District when the mishap occurred, police said.
Karthick and three women occupants of the car were killed while Abirami and others injured when the vehicle rammed into a lorry stranded after a tyre puncture on the national highway near Aavarampalayam in Salem district.
One person succumbed to injuries in a nearby private hospital where the injured have been admitted, police said.
