The incident took place yesterday afternoon in the high security zone near residences of top district officials, police said.
Three armed persons robbed Rs 1.08 crore cash from Pankaj Aggarwal and Mahendra Singh on gunpoint when they came out of a bank after withdrawing the amount, City Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said.
The accused also took the victims' vehicle and fled from the scene, he said.
No security was provided by the construction company to the employees who went to withdraw hefty amount from the bank, he said.
Hideouts of suspected criminals having earlier history of robbery are being continuously raided in adjoining districts, the SP said, adding the culprits will be nabbed soon.
