This was approved at a meeting of a high-level committee meeting for central assistance headed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The assistance of Rs 1,269 crore was approved by the committee, out of which Rs 589.47 crore is the supplementary assistance for damage to kharif crops and Rs 679.54 crore for damage to rabi crops, an official statement said.
The committee examined the proposal based on the report of the Central team which visited Maharashtra.
Union Minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and senior officials of the Home, Finance and Agriculture ministries attended the meeting.
