Rs 15 lakh looted from cash van; bank employee shot dead

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne assailants shot dead a bank employee and looted Rs 15 lakh from a cash van in broad daylight today in SIDCUL area of Udhamsingh Nagar district, police said.
The assailants opened indiscriminate firing on a team of bank personnel when they were on their way to an ATM counter to deposit cash, they said.
The miscreants opened fire the moment the bank employees got down the cash van outside the ATM near Ashok Leyland factory on Dineshpur road, badly injuring three of them including the driver.
As they panicked, the assailants grabbed the bag carrying Rs 15 lakh in cash and drove away, police said.

The injured were rushed to a a nearby hospital where the driver named Manoj succumbed to his injuries.
A search is on to nab the assailants.
