According to police, which claimed to have busted two separate gangs through the arrests, 2.2-kg heroin and 141-kg of cannabis were seized from the accused persons.
Police said that two of the accused, identified as Belraj Sheikh, a resident of Mukundpur Extension, and Gulsher, a resident of Paharganj, were arrested yesterday following a tip-off.
"We got information that a drug trafficker would be coming towards Minto Road yesterday. We then laid a trap and arrested Sheikh and Gulsher. We recovered over 2-kg heroin from their possession," said a senior police officer, adding that Belraj used to procure the drug from his contact near the Jharkhand/ West Bengal border.
"A trap was laid and we arrested Rathee and Manchanda. A search of their car yielded six white-coloured plastic sacks containing 141-kg of cannabis," said a police officer.
