Rs 25.82 L assorted foreign currencies seized from passenger

Foreign currency worth a little over Rs 25.82 lakh have been seized by Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials from a passenger who was about to board a flight from here to Dubai.
Sirajuddin Pallikke Kunhali (39), hailing from Kerala and presently residing in the city, was apprehended while he was about to board an Air India Express flight to Dubai after check in and immigration formalities, a DRI release said.
He was searched and some foreign currencynotes were found concealed inside his socks.
More currency, concealed in hollow tubes of the handles of th bags in rolled bundles and some more more spread under the false bottom of the bag were found.
The foreign currencies comprised U.S. Dollars, Swiss Francs, Euros and Kuwait Dinars adding upto Rs 25,82,686 in terms of their value in Indian rupees, the release said.
