Rs 4.87 lakh looted from ATM

Unidentified miscreants today looted Rs 4.87 lakh from a nationalised bank ATM at Qilla Lal Singh village in Batala district here, police said.
In the wee hours, the accused broke the cash tray of Punjab and Sindh Bank's ATM and took away Rs 4.87 lakh.
According to Batala police, before decamping with the cash the miscreants had sprayed some chemical on the two CCTV cameras installed in the ATM cabin.
A case has been registered on the complaint of Surinder Kumar, the bank Manager, they said, adding further investigations were under progress.
