Rs 5,000 crore earmarked for schemes for EBCs in AP: minister

Andhra Pradesh finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today said the government was planning to spend Rs 5,000 crore in the next five years for the welfare of the Economically Backward Classes.
He was speaking at the Tatiparthi Janmabhoomi Mavuru programme in Pithapuram mandal of East Godavari district.
Special economic package would be provided to the poor among the upper castes, he added.
The minister informed that subsidised supply of clothes to the poor would be resumed, which would also help the weavers.
