The act of fraduery came to light when Dr. Vijay Singh an orthopaedic of Sadar Hospital, Medininagar, today visited the Main Branch of a nationalised bank located within the Collectorate premises to get his passbook updated, police said.
As he got his passbook updated, he found that a sum of Rs.9.50 lakh had been withdrawn from his current account on May 5 last.
The Officer-in-charge of the police station, S K Malviya said preliminary investigation suggested that the amount was transferred into the account of one woman of Lohardagga distirct.
Singh, however, said that he was still under possessesion of the cheque bearing same number, which was apparently used to withdraw the said amount.
