Ruchi Soya launches new ready-to-cook products

FMCG firm Ruchi Soya Industries today forayed into the ready-to-cook products category under its flagship brand Nutrela and is eyeing a 10 per cent market share in the segment by 2019.
The new offerings include Nutrela Instant Soya and Nutrela Ready Mixes, a release issued said.
"These products would further help us strengthen our offerings. We are confident that Nutrela would further reinforce its leadership position in the soya category and also capture a 10 per cent market share by 2019 in the ready-to-cook segment," founder and managing director Dinesh Shahra said.
The company has planned to invest around Rs 20 crore in this new business.
The investments are primarily being made to make these products accessible to our consumers and also conduct taste trials among target consumers, he said.
The ready-to-cook market is around Rs 500 crore and is growing almost 20 per cent in volume and 25 per cent in value terms. It is expected to grow at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of around 20-25 per cent over the next five years.
"Ruchi Soya wants to be a major player in this segment which is valued at Rs 500 crore. We are the number one in soya food and cooking oil category. With this new line of businesses and launches, we expect our flagship brand Nutrela to generate Rs 2,000 crore," he added.
The company will use its existing pan-India retail network of over 7 lakh outlets to drive its sales, he said.
The Nutrela Instant Soya will be available in a 180 gram pack priced at Rs 50, whereas Nutrela Soya Ready Sweet Mix (Soya Kheer) is available at Rs 50 per 180 gram pack.
Nutrela Instant Soya has been launched in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore and will soon be made available across top 20 cities, whereas Nutrela Soya Ready Mixes have been launched in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai and within a couple of months will be made in other cities.
