This is the first Board meeting of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) after appointment of the new CEO Jayant Krishna, who was appointed after MD and CEO Dilip Chenoy put in his papers. Krishna will be in office until the selection and appointment of the new MD & CEO.

Suich to sell India made power banks at Re 1 under scheme * Mobile phone maker Suich Industries will start selling its domestically produced power banks for Re 1 under launch scheme at ecommerce platform Paytm.
"After having expertise and control on quality and understanding of latest technology we have decided to get into direct product for and have launched brand SUICH in the market. Our new range of power banks is high capacity and quality product and better than other Chinese products," Suich Industries MD Gunnit Singh said in a statement.
The company will start selling its power bank in 3 variants 5000mAh, 7500mAh and 10,000mAh capacity on Paytm starting December 21. It will offer power bank to first 1,000 people who will register flash scale scheme.
Suich has priced 5000 mAh power bank at Rs 1,499, 7500mAh at 1,999 and 10,000 mAh is priced at Rs 2,499.

GE-IITM to set up Industrial Internet Centre of Excellence
* US-based diversified group GE has signed an agreement for setting up an Industrial Internet Centre of Excellence at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras here.
Through the centre, GE and IIT-M would create a digital twin of a smelter that would generate new data and insights about the smelter, allowing operators to run smelters efficiently.

Housing price may rise by 4pc in Hyderabad this year * Housing prices in Hyderabad rose by 5.2 per cent during last year but price appreciation is likely to slow down this year at 4 per cent, according to property consultant JLL India.
Stating that Hyderabad has been witnessing a strong demand for office space for some years now, the consultant said that the demand for homes in the city has also grown over the years - barring the period of political turmoil.

* Chinese tech major Xiaomi today said it has sold over six lakhs units of 'Redmi Note 3'.
"We just reached another milestone at Mi India -- in just 60 days of weekly sales, we have sold over 6 lakh units of Redmi Note 3 -- our biggest record yet," Xiaomi Vice President Hugo Barra said in a post on Facebook.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 was launched in India in March. Some of its features include an all-metal body, fingerprint scanner at the back and comes in two memory and storage versions, priced Rs 9,999 onwards.
AMD appoints Swetang Vin as Corporate VP and Regional CFO * Chip maker AMD today said it has elevated Swetang Vin to the newly-created position of Corporate Vice President and Regional Chief Financial Officer for India, Asia Pacific Japan, EMEA and Greater China.
In his new role, Vin will be responsible for leading all financial aspects of AMD's R&D, Sales and Marketing Finance activities as well as entity accounting, taxation, financial controls, and compliance for the aforementioned regions, AMD said in a statement.

TCS helps 100,000 employers sign-up with UK's NEST * IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) today said its client, the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) in the UK, has now signed up more than 100,000 employers to its auto enrolment pension scheme.
As NEST's IT solutions partner and scheme administrator, TCS is responsible for delivering outcome-based, end-to-end administration services across all aspects of the scheme, TCS said in a statement.
