At the end of the 15th round of counting today, Dayakar secured 5,11,608 votes, leaving behind Congress nominee and former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana (1,30,253) and BJP-TDP combine's Pagidipati Devaiah (BJP) (1,00,456) in the distinct second and third positions.
The November 21 bypoll was necessitated following the resignation of Kadiyam Srihari after he was made Deputy Chief Minister. Srihari had won the seat with a margin of 3.92 lakh votes in last year's election.
