Russian tourist dies during rafting

A 48-year-old tourist from Russia drowned after his boat capsized in Rupin river here, the police said today.
The accident took place yesterday when Singey, a resident of St. Petersburg was rafting in Rupin river, Purola Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajkumar Pandey said.
His boat lost control and capsized in the river, he said.
Six of Singey's friends were also with him at the time of accident and they informed the district administration about the mishap.
Singey's body was later recovered from the river by the administration, who handed it over to his friends, the police said.
