S A V Satya Murty is new IGCAR Director

Noted scientist S A V Satya Murty has been appointed as Director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam.
Murty, a Gold Medalist from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, currently serves Electronics and Instrumentation and Radiological Safety Group as its Director, an official release said.
The incumbent P.R. Vasudeva Rao retires on August 31.
Murty bagged the Homi Bhabha prize for standing first in the training school and later obtained the doctoral degree from the Homi Bhabha National Institute.
His group at IGCAR contributed to the setting up of indigenous instrumentation and control systems for the 500 MW prototype fast breeder reactor coming up at Kalpakkam, around 70 km from here.

Murty will take charge tomorrow.
