Pakistan and South Africa are currently playing an ODI series in the UAE, which will be followed by two T20 encounters till November 15.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hit a USD 1.5 million bonanza with this short limited-overs series, to be held in South Africa.
The announcement has come a day after Islamabad High Court restored Najam Sethi as Chairman of the board and also the interim management committee announced by the government.
A board official said that Pakistan cricket needed funds and the short tour would help it boost its revenue.
"With no international teams touring Pakistan since 2009 and India also not willing to give us a full bilateral series, obviously we need to raise funds from all possible avenues," the official said.
