Sabya Sachi Raman Mishra removed as SP, Howrah (Rural)

In less than a fortnight of his appointment as SP, Howrah (Rural), Sabya Sachi Raman Mishra was today removed and was transferred as the SRP, Sealdah.
Sumit Kumar, who is DC Traffic, Howrah Police, would replace Mishra, an order issued by the West Bengal Home Department today said.
Stating that the transfers were made "in the interest of public service", the order also stated Debashis Bej who is SRP Sealdah would take over as the DC Traffic of Howrah Police Commissionerate.
Incidentally, Mishra, who was the SS CID, was made SP Howrah (Rural) on December 2, replacing Sukhesh Kumar Jain.

According to a source in the state secretariat Nabanna, Mishra's transferred was triggered after the police allegedly failed to contain a week-long clash between two communities during a religious procession in Dhulagarh in the district.
