As prime minister's Clean India project completes three years, these celebrities have agreed to undertake 'shramdaan' (contribution of labour) and toilet construction.
Besides Tendulkar, cine stars Akshay and Anushka, Nita Ambani, wife of industrialist Anil Ambani, will also lead the cleanliness campaign in Mumbai, officials said.
As part of the campaign, government has also telecast Toilet: Ek Prem Katha on Doordarshan.
Two personalities from Assam, singer Papon and actress Madhurima have also agreed to be associated with the 'Swachhta hi Seva' campaign.
To make 'Clean India' campaign a success, Prime Minister Modi has written to opinion makers across fields, including industry, sports and cinema, seeking their support to 'Swachhata Hi Seva' movement, saying it is the noblest service.
