Safai Karmacharis panel moots name change for sweeper's post

National Commission for Safai Karmacharis Chairman M Sivanna today asked all central and state government departments and public undertakings, including banks, to rename the sweeper's post as House Keeper.
Addressing the authorities as well as the representatives of trade unions of Corporation Bank here, he requested all the banks to appoint permanent safai karmacharis, abolishing part-time posts. He also demanded hike in home loan amount for them.
Andhra Bank Zonal Manager P Masilamani met Sivanna and briefed him about the welfare measures being undertaken in his bank for safai karmacharis.
Corporation Bank Zonal Manager, K R Rao, welcomed the gathering and Chief Manager ( Marketing) K Pramod Kumar Reddy also spoke.

The main objective of the commission is to study, monitor and evaluate the implementation of the programmes and schemes relating to the social and economic rehabilitation of safai karamcharis and make recommendations to the Central Government for better coordination and implementation of schemes/programmes.
