"On the directive of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, state president Akhilesh Yadav has decided the programme of Sadbhawana Ekta Saptah to spread message of unity, harmony and belongingness among the people," SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in a statement issued here.
Directives have been issued to organise 'Sadbhawana Ekta Sabhas' at all district headquarters on the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on October 2, he said.
He alleged that divisive forces were attempting to take vested political mileage ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
Akhilesh was committed to spread message of strengthening social unity, the spokesman said, adding as a part of the programme seminars would be held between September 25 and 27 at village and ward levels by SP workers.
Between September 28 and 30, meetings would be held at block development levels, Chaudhary said.
