Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a check on the Dungri-Ambahona road and intercepted the vehicle in which the horns were being transported yesterday, Superintendent of Police Ashis Singh said.
During the search, police recovered 83 Sambar horns from the vehicle. Two persons taking the horns to sell them were arrested, he said.
"The seized Sambar horns and the vehicle have been handed over to the forest department for investigation," the SP said.
Earlier, Bargarh police had seized 21 pieces of Sambar horns on July 12 and arrested four persons after intercepting a van on the Bargah-Bhatli road.
