Gunnesswaran survived anxious some moments before getting the better of third seed Vishnu Vardhan 3-6 6-4 7-6(3).
Vishnu Vardhan, however, has something to cheer about as he and his partner N Sriram Balaji clinched the doubles title, beating Anvit Bendre and Vijay Sundar Prasanth 6-3 6-1.
