Indian tennis player Sanam Singh today qualified for the singles main draw of the USD 75000 ATP Challenger tournament in Shenzen following a straight sets win over Wesley Koolhof from the Netherlands.
Sanam defeated the Dutch player 6-3 7-5 in one hour and 25 minutes as he saved all nine break chances he faced and converted both the chances he got in the final qualifying round.
Sanam joined Somdev Devvarman and Saketh Myneni in the singles main draw.
He has been pitted against seventh seed Spaniard Roberto Arballes Baena.
Somdev will take on local player Zhang Ze while Myneni finds himself pitted against second seed Aleksandr Nedovyesov from Kazakhstan.
If Somdev and Myneni win their matches they will fight against each other for a place in the quarterfinals.
