Sania Mirza and her new partner Jie Zheng came from behind to beat Natalie Grandin and Darija Jurak and advance to the second round of the WTA Rogers Cup, here.
The fifth seed Indo-Chinese pair registered a 4-6 7-6 (5) 10-2 win over the South African -Croatian team in the opening round of the USD 2,369,000 Premier hard court event.
There was little to separate the two teams but Sania and Jie outplayed their opponents in the Super Tie breaker to run away with the win.
They will now fight it out with Goergia's Oksana Kalashnikova and Alicja Rosolska of Poland for a place in the quarter-finals.
