Dutt, 56, today walked out a free man from Yerawada Central prison after being granted remission in his five-year sentence.
"It's a happy event for us. He (Sanjay Dutt) has come out as a hero. Sanjay (Dutt) has done his time and he is looking fitter and better than before. This has been a learning curve even for him," Shilpa told PTI at 'The Bonsai Bonanza & Ikebana Exhibition' here.
Shilpa and Dutt have shared screen space in films like "Hathyar", "Jung" and "Dus".
The actress, her husband Raj Kundra and other celebrities like David Dhawan, Apoorva Lakhia, Abbas - Mastan, Ameesha Patel later came to meet Dutt at his residence in suburban Bandra here.
Filmmaker duo Abbas Mastan told reporters "we are happy he is back home. He has suffered a lot..."
"We would love to work with him. But as of now, there is no such story idea for him," the duo added.
