Sanskrit teachers would hold a demonstration here to draw the attention of the Rajasthan government towards their demands including increasing wages.
"Administrative charge of Sanskrit schools is with college lecturers who are getting high salaries under UGC norms whereas Sanskrit teachers are working on low pay grades. This is all due to wrong policies of the government," Shyam Sunder Sharma, teachers' representative said here today.
"We demand that the government remove anomalies in service rules and start promotions in order to do justice with close to 10,000 Sanskrit teachers," he said.
Sharma said that thousands of teachers will hold a dharna on Monday here to press for their demands.
